Telaire Systems was founded by Dr. Jacob Y. Wong in 1989, specializing in non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) gas sensors, and sold it to Engelhard Corporation in 1997. Wong, went to Princeton for his undergraduate and doctoral degrees and worked for Hewlett-Packard. Telaire acquired over 35 patents and was bought by GE and then in December 2013, Amphenol Corporation completed the acquisition of the Advanced Sensors business from GE, of which Telaire was a part. Telaire products are used in commercial and residential building ventilation applications, consumer air quality devices for the home, and controlling air quality conditions in automobiles. Amphenol Advanced Sensors is a leading innovator in advanced sensing technologies and innovative embedded measurement solutions customized for regulatory and industry driven applications, creating value by providing critical information for real-time decisions. Telaire products have been at the forefront of Carbon Dioxide sensing technology for the last 30 years and are the originators of the maintenance free CO2 Non Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) sensor. Telaire has over 35 patents around its technology, including ABC logic that warrants calibration for the life of the sensor. Telaire OEM components are used extensively in heating and ventilation control and Industrial applications. Telaire’s designs have received numerous awards and have been featured in national publications. Utilize Telaire’s experience, research and development prowess, and high-volume manufacturing capability to deliver an affordable sensing solution in a timely manner.
