Are You Owed Money From Capacitor Law Suite?

Just over $80 million has been assigned to plaintiffs in the lawsuit over price fixing of capacitors by many manufacturers from Jan. 1, 2002 until Feb. 28, 2014. The defendants include Panasonic Corp., Elna Co. Ltd., Hatachi Chemical Co., Ltd., Nistuko Electronics Corp., NEC Tokin Corp., SANYO Electric Co., Ltd., Matsuo Electric Co., Nippon Chemi-con Corp., Nichicon Corp., Rubycon Corp., Taitsu Corp., and Toshin Kogyo Co., Ltd.

The lawsuit claimed that many of the world’s largest manufacturers of capacitors unlawfully fixed and raised prices for electrolytic and film capacitors. “Trillions of capacitors are made each year and are commonly used in a vast array of electronic devices and machines across multiple industries. Three basic types of capacitors exist: ceramic, electrolytic, and film, the latter two of which are the subject of the class action lawsuit”, Lieff Cabraser, Heimann and Bernstein reported .

The lawsuit seeks damages on behalf of a class of direct purchasers under Section 1 of the Sherman Act. To make a claim you can start with the claim form here.
