Phoenix Contact has added to its SPTAF line of products with a new PCB terminal block designed to meet Ex eb protection set by the International Electrotechnical Commission 60079-7 guidelines for components used in potentially explosive areas.
Designed for use in oil and gas applications in petroleum refineries and gas utility plants. “This terminal block includes all the advantages of our SPTAF 1 connector family – a low overall height, high current carrying capacity, and intuitive push-in wire termination. Versions that are color coded by wire position are also available upon request,” the Phoenix Contact site explains.
This new space-saving, explosion-proof terminal block has a color-coded actuation lever for intuitive use, makes connections with 24–16AWG wire without any special tools, and its integrated test point provides for quick and convenient circuit testing. It comes with 2–12 contacts on a 3.5mm or 5.0mm pitch, and in versions color-coded by wire position upon request, and is rated for up to 16A and 137V.
